The IPWE (The institution of Permanent Way Engineering) is offering DRE (Diploma in Railway Engineering).
IPWE:-The
Institution of Permanent way Engineers(India) is a technical body under
the auspices of Ministry of Railway for sharing knowledge and
experience of various Railway Engineers connected with permanent way
(Railway Track), bridges and other structures and to keep the members
abreast of the latest developments and instructions in the related
fields.
The
Ministry of Railways have also decided that the Diploma in Railway
Engineering awarded by IPWE should be prescribed as a desirable
additional qualification to weightage in the matter of selections held
for promotions to selection posts in Group ‘C’ of the Railways.

* It is a Correspondence course comprising of 2 Semesters of Six months each.
Both railway men and non-Railway men can apply for DRE (Diploma in Railway Engineering).
a) Railway Personnel Working
as employees of Indian Railway including employees of Konkan Railway,
Port Trust Railways, RITES, IRCON, CRIS, CONCOR, DMRC, RVNL, MVRC and
other Railway PSUs:
Qualification for eligibility:-High
School/SSC or equivalent qualification with maths or science and having
a minimum of 03 years experience or 03 years Diploma in Engineering
discipline recognized by Central/State or Union Territory Government or a
Science / Engineering Graduate or Graduate having Maths or Science as
one of the subjects in Intermediate/Plus 2 of S.S.C.
b) Non-Railwaymen should
possess either of the qualification that is :-Minimum 3-year Diploma in
any Engineering Discipline from any polytechnic duly recognized by
Central/State or Union Territory Governments or B.E/B.Sc or a graduate
(B.A/B.Com) having Science or Maths as one of the subjects at
intermediate/SSC(Plus 2 level).

Note: - Above fees paid at the time of admission are inclusive of examination fee and study material.

Details of Conduct classes for coaching:-
Contact Classes are arranged at Delhi. These are not compulsory but,
optional. You will have to pay Rs.3000/- + Service Tax as applicable
extra if you opt for this.
Supplementary
for Failed Subjects:-you can apply for Supplementary Examination by
paying a fee of Rs.200/- + Service Tax as applicable per subject and
Rs.1000 + Service Tax as applicable for all subjects.
How To Apply:- Application Procedure for Diploma in Railway Engineering (DRE) in Institution of Permanent Way Engineers
(i) Prospectus
containing the application form along with other details can be
obtained from the office of IPWE (India) at the address given above or
at our associate office in Baroda House, New Delhi, either in cash by
paying Rs.100/- or by sending Bank Draft of Rs.150/- (including postal
charges) in favour of IPWE (India) payable at New Delhi along with a
self addressed envelop size 25cm x 15 cm.
(ii) Alternatively
eligible non-Railway candidates can apply through email for admission
to Semester-I of the course by sending a DD of Rs.2950 in
favor of Institution of Permanent Way Engineers (India), New Delhi.
**Important Dates:-Usually Admissions will start from:01st week of June 2018.
The Last Date for Receipt of Application Forms is: 4th Week of August 2018
